Students and family members dance in a gymnasium. Over 100 members of the High Point community enjoyed a night of fitness fun!

High Point Students and their families enjoyed a “Family Fitness Night” on Friday, Jan. 20th, 2012. The event was sponsored by the school’s PTA and Community Involvement Team. The 100 plus attendees enjoyed a lively Zumba class taught by Carla Griffith from the Coomes Center in Abingdon. Relaxing Yoga stretches, taught by Amy Sullivan, concluded the night of fitness and fun. There were several door prizes, free jump ropes for all students, and a one month free membership to Dyna Body; including four free personal training sessions for all adults in attendance. High Point is grateful to Ms. Carla for all of her involvement with our school and her commitment to the fitness of our students. Ms. Carla is no stranger to the schools of Washington County. She joins with Elementary P.E. classes every 6 weeks to incorporate Zumba fitness. Her classes are wildly popular with students across the county.
