Mrs. Colleen Buchanan is the Glade Spring Middle School Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Colleen Buchanan on her selection as the Glade Spring Middle Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Buchanan was chosen by her peers to represent our school. Mrs. Buchanan teaches eighth grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra I. In the classroom, she uses a variety of techniques and technologies to meet the needs of all students. She provides additional assistance to students during SmartBlock and during the after school homework help (Wednesday Workshops). Mrs. Buchanan is very active in extra-curricular activities serving as a sponsor of the Student Council Association and the Gifted and Talented Program. Along with her co-sponsor she plans and organizes events such as school dances, a Veterans Day program, faculty and staff recognition and much more. This year, Mrs. Buchanan has taken on the role of PTA President. She has developed a calendar of meetings all designed to meet the needs of parents and the school community. Mrs. Buchanan is an outstanding educator and Glade Spring Middle School is proud of her.
