The Patrick Henry Forensics team competed in the district tournament at Chilhowie High School on February 8, 2012. Fifteen students competed in 12 categories, making this the largest team Patrick Henry High School has ever had. The team finished fourth overall, which is the highest finish in Patrick Henry High School history. Even more remarkable, none of these students have ever competed in forensics before! Two students will continue to Regionals on March 3: Emma B. for her second place finish in Original Oratory, and Ella. B. for her second place finish in Extemporaneous Speaking. In addition, two other entries finished fourth as alternates to Regionals: Melina R. & Tori T. competed in Serious Duo Interpretation and Anthony R. & Alaura S. in Humorous Duo Interpretation. Mrs. Seymore would like to thank all of the team members for their hard work and dedication including her speech fundamentals students from first semester, the drama students, and Mrs. Belcher for help in preparing these competition pieces.
