A Network Of Schools

The Washington County Public School System serves approximately 7,400 students.  The system presently includes seven elementary schools, four middle schools, four comprehensive high schools, two career and technical schools, and an adult skill center.

The school system’s diversity of programs offers students the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in the basics to prepare for higher education and/or a career, and to practice productive citizenship.  All Washington County Public Schools are fully accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and regionally by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  In 1969, Washington County Public Schools was the first Southwest Virginia school division to be fully accredited by SACS.
