Greendale Elementary Fifth Grade Students Kick Start Reading

Ten fifth grade students are happily holding up their poster-sized projects while standing in the corner of their classroom. To kick start the Accelerated Reader program, fifth grade students read The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. The Westing Game is a murder mystery like no other, with an unusual plot, a fantastically quirky cast of characters, and more unexpected twists than you can count. There are few mysteries written that are as engaging, and with $200 million at stake in the game, figuring out the clues was hardly child's play. The student’s also showcased their creative talents by creating advertisements, book summaries, movie scripts and board games in order to market the book, while simultaneously sharpening their spy skills.
