Have you Herd?

A wagon and a wooden cow are on display. For the second year in succession, the Washington County Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) collected the Grand Champion Prize at the Washington County Fair during the week of September 8-13th. An outstanding collaborative effort between a variety of CTE Center departments and CTE Center students resulted in the success of the final product.

The CTE cow that was entered into the competition, made by the Building Trades class, was displayed in a wagon designed, created, and painted by the Carpentry class, and the CTE Center Cosmetology and Math classes contributed accessories and decorations. Each wheel was painted to represent individual school colors and displayed the letters of the four area high schools that makeup the CTE Center student body. The cow’s exterior had remarkable digital artwork created by the CTE Center Ad Design class that was developed in a jig-saw puzzle pattern with each shop name, teacher’s name, and class pictures to represent and combine the fair and school system’s theme. We are very proud of our CTE Center students and instructors for all of their hard work and collaboration.
