HPES 2nd Graders Enjoy STEM Day

Two students working to build a tower.Recently,  the Second Grade students at High Point Elementary enjoyed a day of various STEM activities. Each classroom teacher chose a different activity for students to complete. A total of five STEM projects were done throughout the day.

Activities were filled with Reading, Math, and Science. Students were able to work cooperatively to solve the problems placed before them. Activities varied from solving the Mystery of the Missing Gingerbread Man to saving Sammie the Worm from drowning. Children were also asked to assemble towers from assortment of materials varying from index cards to cubes to magnets. The teachers could not be more proud of our budding engineers and scientists! This was definitely a day filled with fun AND learning!
