John S. Battle High School Receives Runner-Up in District Competition

Three kids and a teacher pose with a trophy. On Tuesday, October 28, John S. Battle High School hosted the Conference 40 One Act Play Festival. JSB chose to do a dramatic play that was different than anything previously done at the school. Take A Chance by Chris Richman is an “existential quest for self-meaning”.

Two pieces on a Monopoly board fall in love and wonder if there is more to life than walking around the block all day. Despite being under the watchful eye of Utility one of the characters manages to escape from the board. Liam R., Emily S., and Lydia B. played the main characters while Adian S., Destiny K., and Chandler B. helped with the lights.
The students’ performance landed the cast and crew a second place finish in the conference competition which puts them into the regional competition on November 15. Congratulations cast and crew of Take A Chance!
