Four women standing in front of a nursing class during a presentation. On October 13th students enrolled in practical nursing classes at the WCCTEC were treated to a special presentation on skin cancer.  The guest lecturers were graduates from the Washington County and Russell County Schools of Practical Nursing and are practicing Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

The guest lecturers are current nursing students in the “bridge” LPN-to-RN associate degree nursing program at Virginia Highlands Community College.  The presentation was a required assignment for their nursing classes and included information about skin cancer as well as a rousing game of “Slip, Slop, Slap, and Wrap” to emphasize the importance of preventing skin cancer.  The guest lecturers were an inspiration to current students and included Danielle Blankenship, LPN, Bambi Evans, LPN, Ashley Collins, LPN, and Tiffany Harr, LPN.  We wish them great success in their current educational endeavors!
