Valley Students Writing Their Own Diaries

Three students seated in chairs in front of a class holding up books.Recently fourth graders at Valley Institute had an opportunity to read to second graders. After reading Diary of a Worm  fourth graders began working on a writing prompt.  Working through the writing process these fourth graders became authors and illustrators.

Second graders read the books Diary of a Spider and were delighted to hear three versions of diaries: "Diary of a Dog," "Diary of an Elephant," and "Diary of a Pig."  Second graders were excited to hear the stories from Colby K., Ella S., and Kendra W.!  Not only are these students being role models for the younger students, they are also providing inspiration to all of the students who one day hope to become an author!  Way to go fourth grade!!
