WES Snowy Day Recess

A group of children displaying their projects. So, what do you do when the weather outside is frightful, but recess still needs to be delightful? You create fractions on geoboards of course! Don't be fooled.

These students were having tons of fun manipulating rubber bands in various configurations to create models of halves, thirds, fourths, eighths, even twelfths! The excitement was palpable as the students challenged each other to see who could create the given fractional parts the fastest. Creating is one of the highest levels of learning as students apply and demonstrate learned concepts. It might have been learning, but what they don't know won't hurt them. Wink, wink...
