WMS Teacher to Present at AMLE Conference

A lady wearing a white shirt and glasses is pictured resting her hand on her cheek. On April 8, Liz Phillips (English 8 and World Geography) received an email message from Dena Harrison, Program Coordinator of the Association for Middle Level Education, congratulating her on being selected as a presenter at the 43rd Annual Conference for Middle Level Education in Austin, Texas, October 9-12, 2016.

Harrison wrote that the selection process was particularly tough this spring because more than a thousand strong proposals were submitted by educators across the country. The AMLE has placed the session titled "Contrastive Analysis: Listening to Dialect and Transforming it to Casual and Formal Writing" on the conference speed track so the presentation is made three times.  Phillips is very excited about the opportunity to grow professionally and share her research and transformative writing lessons with teachers, literacy coaches, and administrators.
