DESCRIPTION: This program is a series of four disks which may be purchased together or separately. Each disk provides five lessons of text from the content areas of science, social studies, literature, and mathematics. By using passages from these content areas, the program reviews specific reading skills. The computer displays the story paragraph by paragraph at the student's chosen pace. The student is given the option to read the story as many times as needed. Each story is followed by eight questions which always test the same basic reading skills which are listed above. Specialized words from particular lessons are reinforced through reproducible "Word Find Puzzles" that are included with the program.

EVALUATION SUMMARY: The program presents the student with interesting and relevant information on a variety of topics in the major content areas. The program is easy to use and to follow. It provides for re-teaching, as specific paragraphs are displayed again when an error is made by the student. This program is a good tool for improving reading comprehension. Each question does test a specific reading skill, but there is no management system. So the teacher does not know which type of questions are regularly missed unless the students record their answers.
