Online Databases

Washington County Public Schools has purchased subscriptions to the following databases. These online databases are accessible from all school computers. Please contact the library staff for user name and password for remote access.

Thomson Gale Databases provide access to full text magazine, newspaper, and journal articles. The databases are grouped by subject and level. The following are some of the available resources:

ProQuest K-12 includes eLibrary and eLibrary Elementary. These databases offer more than 1,500 full-text sources and a fun and easy-to-use search interface. Includes magazines, newspapers, books, television/radio transcripts, maps, pictures, and audio/video clips.

SIRSis an online database containing thousands of full text articles. It includes SIRS Researcher (General Reference) SIRS Government Reporter (Information By & About the U.S. Government) and SIRS Renaissance (Arts & Humanities).

inet library is a database of web sites selected and categorized for educational research.

Grolier Online provides 5 online encyclopedias: Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, and The New Book of Knowledge, The New Book of Popular Science, and Lands and Peoples.
