Summer School and Summer Camps

Students and Parents/Guardians of Washington County Schools,

We are working on plans for summer school for students and need some information from you to help us plan. Please complete the linked survey if you have an interest in your child and/or children attending summer school.

This is NOT a firm commitment, but we need estimated numbers in order to plan accordingly. It is our desire, if there is enough demand, to offer summer school in each school community at the elementary level. If there is not as much demand, we may need to combine schools.

As well, the attached document includes information about summer school as well as information about camps we are offering this summer; additional information will be provided soon regarding each camp.

Please open this news story to access the survey link and summer school and camp announcement.

CDC Masking Guidance

Washington County Public Schools' Families,

As new guidance is provided from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), we will make adaptations to our local guidance as well. The most recent announcement from the CDC states, “Effective February 25, 2022, CDC does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs.” While masks are no longer required, the recommendation remains to wear masks indoors as a COVID-19 mitigation strategy when levels of community transmission are high.

Effective Tuesday, March 1, 2022 masks will be optional for students on Washington County Public Schools' buses and school-operated vehicles.
