Gifted
Welcome to the Washington County Public Schools Gifted Education page. Important information can be found in the links under the Gifted Menu heading. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Gifted Education, please contact Dr. Sherry King, Supervisor of Elementary Instruction, Federal Programs, Gifted Education.
Gifted Education in Washington County is coordinated by the Division Facilitator, who trains school-level coordinators, provides professional development in gifted education for all teachers, evaluates students, and oversees division-wide management of the program. School-level gifted coordinators plan and provide monthly enrichment and extension services for gifted learners in their schools. Classroom teachers provide differentiation of instruction that aligns with students' Gifted Education Plans. The collaboration of all who work with gifted learners fosters learning experiences that align with students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
Fall referrals for gifted education evaluations are being accepted through Wednesday, September 30, 2022. If you would like to make a referral, please contact the gifted education coordinator at your child’s school or click the link below.
