The office of Gifted Education is currently receiving referrals for fall identification screenings. Any teacher or parent who feels a child may possibly be a gifted learner is encouraged to contact their school's Gifted Education coordinator. Parents and teachers of ESL students are encouraged to see their child's ESL instructor for gifted education information. Teachers and parents of students with disabilities who feel the child may also be a gifted learner are encouraged to see their child's case manager. Ability testing (OLSAT, NNAT), as well as collection of additional data, will take place during September and October. Eligibility determination will take place throughout October and November. Anyone with additional questions can contact Felicia Lowman-Sikes, Facilitator of Gifted Education Programs, at 276-739-3018.
