Abingdon Elementary Fifth Graders Experiment with States of Matter! 10-04-2017

Students with messy hands using liquids in science class.Fifth graders at AES have been having fun learning about states of matter. They have been observing and investigating matter changing between solids, liquids, and gases. They even watched teachers demonstrate changing gas to solid and solid to liquid to gas to plasma and back!

Watauga Elementary School introduced the new OSOB (One School One Book) this year, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. To celebrate the new book, Watauga had community involvement from a local motorcycle club.

WCCTEC CISCO Students Experience Digital Realities 09-25-2017

Students are in a 10' x10' room with VR headsets.Virginia Tech’s Department of Computer Science, the Institute for Creativity, Arts and Technology, Advanced Research Computing, and the Center for Space Engineering and Research Institute (Space@VT) graciously hosted twenty-one WCCTEC CISCO students on 19 September. Mr. Randy Woodward’s CISCO class was exposed to a horizon of possibilities from each of the departmental presentations.

Valley Institute Elementary School Bulldogs for Battle Tailgate Party 09-22-2017

The Washington County SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE meets four times a year. Meetings are open to the public. The advisory committee solicits viewpoints and suggestions from parents of students with disabilities and other interested persons for consideration. A meeting will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.

Holston High School Steps Up to Donate Blood 09-21-2017

A teenaged female is lying on a gurney.The Holston FBLA club hosted their annual Marsh Blood drive on Wednesday, September 13th.   Holston High's faculty, staff, and students were eligible to donate blood.  Several senior students were asked for quotes about their blood donating experience.
