Watauga Elementary third grade students recently attended a showing of “Frosty” at the Barter Theatre. The students were completely mesmerized by the exciting song and dance routines of the Barter cast.
|The Greendale Choir Grows||02-26-2016||
The Greendale Choir has hit the ground running—welcoming new faces and learning new music for the spring semester. The “snowpocalypse” may have set us back a few rehearsals, but the choir is ready to work on our new pieces for the spring. With twenty new students joining after Christmas, the Greendale Choir now stands at 73 members—the largest choir ever at Greendale!

Fifth grade GATE students participated in a Harry Potter book study club. The students challenged each other with trivia questions for each book, studied name origins of the various characters and creatures, acted out favorite scenes, and compared and contrasted selected scenes from the books and movies.
|Annual ASVAB Test Serves 43 Students||02-24-2016||
For the 14th straight year, the Washington County Career and Technical Center opened its doors to the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test and to the county’s high school students who wished to take it. A record number of 43 students sat for the exam.
If you live in Washington County, Virginia, and have a child who will be 4 years of age by September 30, 2016, your child may qualify for enrollment in the school division's PRESCHOOL PROGRAM for the 2016-2017 school year. Enrollment is limited, so parents of prospective students should contact the KIDZ PLACE (Title 1 Parent Resource Center) by calling 276-739-3115 to set up a screening appointment.

Third grade students in Mrs. Miller’s third grade math class have been challenged to a competition by Dr. King! There will be a timed competition in which students will be given three minutes to complete as many multiplication facts as they can.
