In preparation for an upcoming fieldtrip to Brights Zoo, High Point third graders participated in a collaborative learning project to learn more about the animals at the zoo.

The 4th and 5th grade Watauga Elementary School choir under the direction of Amanda Farnum helped spread some holiday cheer throughout the community in the month of December. The choir had the opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the towns of Abingdon and Bristol sharing some well-known Christmas Carols.
|Third Grade Math – High Point Elementary||01-13-2017||
At High Point Elementary School students in Mrs. Ratliff and Mrs. Miller’s third grade Math classes explored geometric shapes using only marshmallows and toothpicks. At first students used these materials to construct plane shapes such as squares, rectangles, and triangles.

“Respect Yourself, Be Drug and Bully Free” was the Wallace Middle School Red Ribbon theme this year. Student Ambassadors kicked off Red Ribbon Week by attaching a red ribbon to every locker.

Mia A., who has been a fixture on the Holston High School varsity softball team since her freshman year, will wear the colors of the Emory and Henry Wasps next year. She signed her intent to play in December with her coaches, family, and teammates joining her to celebrate.

Watauga Elementary School GATE students recently sponsored a school-wide Sock Hop to gather donations for a community service project which provided 470 pairs of warm socks to the homeless across our area.
