Mrs. Tami Counts is the Teacher of the Year at GSMS 02-02-2016

A teacher sitting in a desk with students around her.Glade Spring Middle School is proud to announce that Mrs. Tami Counts has been selected as the 2015-2016 GSMS Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Counts has taught 8th Grade English at the middle school since 1997.

GES Participates in Bricks for Kids 02-01-2016

WES Fifth Grader Wins County Spelling Bee 01-29-2016

A Girl standing in front of school sign.The 2015 Annual Washington County Spelling Bee was held on Tuesday, December 15. The spelling bee winners from each elementary school participated for spelling glory at Meadowview Elementary.

King Men’s Choir Entertains at Holston 01-29-2016

A group of male college students sing on a stage.The King University Men's Vocal Ensemble visited Holston High School on January 14th.  The group of talented singers performed several American standard pop songs without instrumental accompaniment.

Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting 01-26-2016

The Washington County Special Education Advisory Committee Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. If there is a delayed schedule due to bad weather, the meeting will be at 11:00 a.m.  If school is not in session on that day, the meeting will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. or if school is on a delayed schedule, at 11:00 a.m.  The meeting will be held in the top floor of the Annex Building. Questions regarding the meeting may be directed to Connie Phillips, Supervisor of Special Education at 739-3041.

ASVAB Test to Be Offered at Career and Technical Center 01-25-2016
For the 14th consecutive year, the Washington County Career and Technical Center will sponsor a test session for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test (ASVAB).  The test will be given on Friday, February 5th from 12:30 to 3:15 PM.  The ASVAB is offered to all county juniors and seniors who have a potential interest in serving in the United States military.  All branches of the military and their reserve components mandate that individuals take the ASVAB before they enlist.

High Point Elementary School Whips & Nae Naes 01-19-2016

Students in a gym dancing.The High Point 4H club held their annual “Share the Fun” talent show. Talent acts that were showcased included: dancers, musicians, comedians, singers, magicians and many more. The purpose of this talent show is to build confidence.

Mossholder is Holston’s Teacher of the Year 01-18-2016

Emory and Henry Chamber Choir Visits Wallace Middle School 01-15-2016

College students are singing to a group of middle school students.On December 4, 2015, Wallace Middle School had the pleasure of listening to a performance by the Emory and Henry Chamber Choir.  This group of singers performed several acapella songs for the sixth grade students.
