Special Memories for the Kidz Place (Title 1 Parent Resource Center) 05-26-2015

Our year has been a full one with many outreaches in the community, field trips, the first year for the traveling Wild About Books mobile, our late nights with the Tail Waggin' Tutors (therapy dogs), doing Story Time at the Washington County Public Library,  and our many story time adventures.  Graduation for our Story Time class was held Thursday, May 14th.

Damascus Middle School Students Learn about Career Choices! 05-25-2015

A man speaks to a group of students in front of a SMARTBOARD.Throughout the month of March, students at Damascus Middle School had opportunities to learn about the career choices that are available to them.  On Thursday, March 12, Mrs. Jackie Morris, our Career Coach and Career Investigations Teacher, organized a College and Career Night for students and their families to eat delicious barbeque (prepared by In the Country and funded by the VHCC Foundation) and hear about options for their future.

WES Choir Performs at Relay for Life 05-22-2015

Many members of the community came out to the Washington County Fairgrounds to show their support for the Relay for Life and listen to choir.

Damascus Middle School Participates in Digital Learning Day! 05-22-2015

Damascus Middle School recognized Digital Learning Day on Friday, March 13 with a variety of uses of technology in the building.  Many students began their day by casting their vote for their favorite item on the breakfast menu using Poll Everywhere, an online survey, and the winner is…the chicken biscuit!

Wallace Middle School Students Model the Solar System 05-21-2015

A small scale model of outer space with planets. Wallace Middle School sixth graders have been busy creating 3-D solar system displays in their study of space.  Students in Mrs. Carrigan's science classes had to research and display 3-5 facts on the sun, each planet, and the asteroid belt.

Peyton G. has demonstrated that it is possible to be an outstanding student and athlete.  He set the standard for local high school golfers this year by claiming an individual conference title while leading the Holston Cavaliers Golf Team to their third straight Crooked Road Conference Championship and the regional tournament.

DMS Cafeteria Celebrates National School Breakfast Week! 05-21-2015

Three students stand in front of a bulletin board.Since research shows that students perform better academically if they eat a healthy breakfast, the Damascus Middle School cafeteria staff encouraged students to “make the grade with school breakfast” during National School Breakfast Week, March 2-6.  With two new options on the breakfast line plus an opportunity to win prizes throughout the week, eating breakfast was very tempting!

High Point Fifth Graders Give Back 05-20-2015

HPES Students Give Back​Sadly, a High Point fifth grade student and family lost their home and all of their belongings in a fire.  The fifth grade students wanted to help out the family. They knew that whatever was done had to be done quickly. The students brainstormed and came up with an amazing fundraiser!

WES Kindergarten gets Up, Up and Away with the Parachute 05-20-2015
