AHS Earth Day Activities in a Combined Effort

Students assisted in set-up and take-down, game facilitating, artwork, and face-painting. AT2 met with members of Mount Rogers Appalachian Trail Club, a volunteer group which helps maintain 60 miles of the Appalachian Trail.  Mount Rogers AT club has combined goals with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy to encourage youth to participate in maintaining the Trail. On May 2, AT2 students will assist these agencies in removing invasive, non-native plants on the Appalachian Trail in Damascus.  Thanks to Kim Laws, AHS teacher, and Marywood Sparks, AHS library secretary, for their efforts and leadership of this group.
