Book Swap at Abingdon Elementary!
Tue, April 26, 2016
April is School Library Month with the theme “School Libraries Transform Learning.” National Library Week is April 10-16, 2016. Abingdon Elementary School library helped create much thinking and
celebrating of books during National Library Week. Each morning, Mrs. Hobbs, our librarian, came on the morning news with a book trivia question of the day. Five fortunate students won a gift card to Books-a-Million!
We also held a book swap and shop event during National Library week. Students and teachers were given the opportunity to trade books already read and enjoyed for different “new” books.Teachers held their school “swap and shop” event in the library after school on Thursday. The student “swap and shop” event was in the library on Friday morning. There were many happy faces and lots of great “new-to-me” books shared during this event. We share, learn and are transformed every day by our AES school library. However, April and NLW gave us the opportunity to emphasize it even more than usual…Happy reading from AES!
