The following students: Emma B., Sydney B., Dillon B., Dustin B., Emily C., Cole C., James D., Jesse D., Emily H., Ashton K., Shaydun K., Shaylee M., Maggie M., Sadie M., Colt M., Walker P., Lucy R., Amanda S., Rylee S., and Noah T., were named Jr. Washington County Community Scholars based on their hours of volunteer service, as well as their excellent attendance, behavior, and academic records.  When students arrived at E&H, Mr. Anthony Graham, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, led them on a tour of the campus and shared that Emory & Henry is a campus dedicated to service, having received the Presidential Award for Service Learning!  Mr. Graham stressed the importance of the students continuing to serve in the community and leading others through this example, regardless of their future plans. Students were also able to participate in Ampersand Day, a time when Emory & Henry students showcase their capstone projects, which was an exciting way for the DMS students to interact with college students!  After a delicious lunch in the dining hall, students visited the bookstore before heading back to Damascus Middle School.  Mrs. Kimberly Holmes, guidance counselor, helped to provide this excellent opportunity for DMS students to see how their service to others can continue throughout high school and beyond!
