Glade Spring Middle School Science Students Are Artists
Post date:
Thu, March 31, 2016
Seventh grade science students in the afternoon exploratory class are artists! Students used the vocabulary from the Life Science Standards of Learning and the science textbook to create a "Word Art Wall". Using Robert J.Marzano's "Six Step Vocabulary Process", they used research skills in finding the definition and the graphic rendering of the word.
The words were printed on hexagons and students wrote the definition and drew a picture representing the word. The hexagons were colored with bold colors so they would stand out and then put on a chart anchored in the hall. Now all science students can see the science vocabulary daily and hopefully remember the definitions.
