HHS Chorus Holds Annual Fall Dinner
Wed, October 26, 2016
On Tuesday, October 18, the Holston High School Chorus held its annual dinner and cakewalk. Although the dinner served as a fundraiser, its greater purpose was to get the chorus members' families and friends together to show support and encouragement for the singers. It also gave the members a chance to show off some of the songs they had learned.
Parents and chorus members helped with the set up for the dinner, while families donated food. The atmosphere was casual and social and it gave the attendees a chance to get acquainted with one another. The chorus performed two sets of songs. Members dressed in Halloween attire in the spirit of the season. On the final number, Elvis Presley's "I can't help falling in love", two members accompanied with ukuleles. The final event of the night was the cakewalk. The event accomplished it purpose of raising funds for upcoming events and creating fellowship in the community in support of the excellent Holston choral members.
