Two soldiers stand in front of a table. One is in a formal dress uniform and one is in a work uniform.Chase T., a 2015 graduate of Holston High School, recently returned from his Army Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  Chase came back to greet his Holston peers during lunch less than a week after his return from training.  He appeared in full dress blues wearing the Private First Class stripe that he had earned during his training.

Chase chose to take the split-option route.  He completed basic training during the summer between his junior and senior year.  After he graduated, he headed to Missouri for the job specific training he needed.  He was trusted by the drill sergeants and was often called upon to lead his squad and to take charge of training missions.  As a Virginia National Guardsman, Chase has display a good attitude and a can do spirit that will make him a successful soldier in today's armed forces.  Holston students and faculty are grateful for his willingness to serve the nation.
