JSBHS Junior Accepted into the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars Program
Mon, March 9, 2015
Kaitlin I., a John S. Battle junior, has been selected to participate in the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars Program. VASTS is a program open to qualified high school juniors statewide and offers an exploration-themed, online course based on the exciting work of NASA.
Students who perform well in the course are invited to one of three, one-week summer academies at NASA Langley Research Center where they work with science, technology and engineering mentors to design a human mission to Mars. Participants earn up to four college credits upon completion. We are proud of Kaitlin’s acceptance and excited she will have this wonderful opportunity to explore and heighten her interest in space even more!
