Several adult family members and coaches are standing behind her.On Thursday, March 19th, Holston Senior Chelsey W. reached the pinnacle for outstanding high school athletes when she signed to play softball for the King University Lady Tornados in the 2015-16 season. Family, friends, and coaches gathered at the signing ceremony as head coach Lisa Blackburn recalled some of the highlights of Chelsey’s career.

Chelsey has been a multiple sport athlete at HHS, but softball has always been her favorite sport. As a first baseman and pitcher, she has led her team both defensively and offensively. At the plate last season, she batted .317 and hit 2 home runs. On the diamond, she had a .909 fielding average and pitched a one hitter. This year promises to be even better as play begins. The faculty and staff of Holston High School congratulate Chelsey and her coaches on her success and King University for their wise choice in acquiring her as a Lady Tornado.
