Learning Science Hands On!
Tue, September 20, 2016
Third grade students from Watauga Elementary attended Conservation Camp at Sugar Hollow Park on September 7.
The day was packed full of exciting hands on learning. Students learned about water pollution, conservation of natural resources, the consequences of littering on the environment, fighting forest fires and controlled burns that are good for the environment, protecting usable water resources, local mammals, and food chains. The students were very excited when they were allowed to don animal skins, plant limbs, and other props to create a living food chain. They learned how all living organisms are interdependent and important for the overall health and survival of our habitats.
