Meadowview Elementary School | Field trip to Rocky Mount

A group of students watching a lady.On April 24, 2019, the second grade class from Meadowview Elementary School visited Rocky Mount Living History Museum.  The well-behaved group learned what life was like in the Southwestern Territory in 1791.

Students were surprised to learn about what chores children their age—and younger—were expected to do in 1791.  They enjoyed watching the sheep being sheared and liked being able to pet the lambs.  The second graders now have a better understanding of what life was like long ago and a better appreciation of how much easier life is today.
