Meadowview Elementary School Second Graders Learn About Native Americans
Thu, November 30, 2017
Meadowview Elementary School’s second grade students recently had a great hands-on learning experience with Melissa Duncan who is an instructor with the Van Gogh Outreach Program from the William King Museum of Art in Abingdon.
Mrs. Duncan taught the students all about Native Americans—specifically the Eastern Woodland Indians. She had many interesting artifacts and pictures to share with them. The students were able to create their very own necklaces similar to ones early North American Native Americans wore. Each second grade class enjoyed every part of the interesting lesson. All of the students look forward to future visits from Mrs. Duncan!
