PHHS SCA Members Attend the 2015 State Convention in Williamsburg

Girl stands in front of a podium.As President School of the Virginia Student Councils Association, Patrick Henry High School and Student Representative Emma B. led the 2015 State Convention in Williamsburg March 20-22. Student representatives of Patrick Henry High School, Emma B. and Chloe C., with their Student Council Advisors Amanda Chitwood and Jillian Smith, were able to meet with other Student Council groups from across the state of Virginia.

The weekend included a welcoming address by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction for the Commonwealth of Virginia, Dr. Stephen Staples, a keynote address by Dr. Jerry Gaines, a retired educator who travels the county sharing what his students have taught him in the classroom, and a forum with the Board of Education to discuss the needs and wants of Virginia’s students. Patrick Henry High School is proud to have served as the President School of the Virginia Student Councils Association for the 2014-2015 School Year and looks forward to continuing to serve the oldest state student leadership organization in the nation!
