Red Ribbon Week at Wallace Middle School
Thu, January 12, 2017
“Respect Yourself, Be Drug and Bully Free” was the Wallace Middle School Red Ribbon theme this year. Student Ambassadors kicked off Red Ribbon Week by attaching a red ribbon to every locker.
Students promoted the rest of Red Ribbon Week by participating in various themed activities. The themes were “Hawaiian Day-Lei Off Drugs”, “Peace Out to Drugs and Bullying”, “Red, White, and Blue Day- Stand United Against Drugs and Bullying”, and “Wear Gray Day- In Support of Coach Odum and Brain Cancer Awareness Day”. Students pledged to be drug and bully free by turning in their pledges to win a prize each day. All week totals were kept of student participation to see which grade would win the WMS Spirit Stick. Congratulations to the 7th Grade for Winning the Spirit Stick this year! To finish off the week, the SCA sponsored a dance to raise money for Coach Odum, and the students gathered outside to take a group picture.
