Valley Institute Elementary School | Celebrates Dr. Seuss

Students are listening to a guest reader.Valley Institute kicked off the week celebrating Dr. Seuss with a vocabulary parade.  Students selected a vocabulary word and then dressed in costume to represent the word.

It was a fun and interesting day as students strolled the halls to show off their words!  Students also wore hats, teased up wacky hair, and dressed in colors to round out the week honoring some of the most beloved books by Dr. Seuss.  Guest readers from the community came to read to students, including Mr. Josh Cumbow, Commonwealth Attorney for Washington County and Ms. Jerry Countiss, a retired teacher.  Other activities during the week were Drop Everything and Read and “Green Eggs and Ham” in the cafeteria.  “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” with books and a love of reading!
