Wallace Middle School | Students Have Fun with an Electrical Lab

Students are working with batteries and clips.Students in Mr. Wallace’s eighth grade science classes recently completed an electrical lab, which consisted of building a flashlight, a closed circuit, and an electromagnet.

Students had to come up with the plans to create these items and then implement their plans.  They had to learn how to use a knife switch and a direct current in constructing the flashlight and the closed circuit.  The electromagnet was created using a nail, insulated copper wire, and a battery.  The flashlight consisted of the knife switch, battery holders, insulated copper wire, light bulb, and holder.  The students not only enjoyed getting to construct and implement their plans, but they really loved the hands-on experience of the lab.
