Two female students are working together on a computer.Students at Wallace Middle School participated in activities through the Hour of Code event that began on Monday, December 3. Sixth and seventh graders, as well as an eighth-grade exploratory class, enjoyed the opportunities to learn and practice coding during library classes.

Students began by watching a short video which emphasized the important role coding will play in the students' academic and career choices in the future. Next, students were directed to access and begin with an activity of their choosing. Over the next few weeks, by participating in this event, students will be learning valuable skills of problem-solving, collaboration, and trial and error all of which are important in becoming life-long learners.
