Washington County Career and Technical Education Center | Jobs for Virginia Graduates, (JVG) Leadership Day at SWVA Higher Education Center

WCCTEC students are sitting around a table for JVG Leadership Day.At the annual JVG Leadership Day, WCCTEC students had the opportunity to strengthen their soft skills as they networked with local businesses, educational institutions, and the armed forces.

Students were given information, advice, and guidance as they approach graduation and career-making decisions, including further education or military. JVG emphasizes to students that they can become leaders in business and the community.  Students then enjoyed listening to the keynote speaker, Antonio Rice. Over the last 20 years, he has been contributing to the development and growth of employees. His strong passion for mentoring, coaching and teamwork began with his football career at the University of Virginia and then with the Dallas Cowboys. He empowered our students with his honesty, sense of humor, and hands-on approach. Antonio has a deep commitment to contributing to others in and out of the classroom. The WCCTEC JVG students enjoyed speaking with him afterward and getting pictures taken with him.
