Watauga Elementary School | Preschool Visits Abingdon Fire Department
Post date:
Wed, November 14, 2018
Watauga Elementary preschool students took a field trip to the Abingdon Fire Department. Students had learned about fire safety in their classrooms during the month of October, so the trip to the fire department was very exciting.
Students were able to see firefighting equipment, take a tour of the fire station, and sit inside the fire truck! Firefighters talked to students about having smoke detectors in homes, and showed how to “stop, drop, cover your face, and roll” if their clothes were on fire. Special thanks to the Abingdon Fire department for helping students feel prepared for fire emergencies!
