📣 SCHEDULE CHANGE: Washington County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Buses will run on clear routes only. Childcare for elementary students will be provided at elementary schools (for elementary aged students only) for working parents who need it. 📢SCHEDULE UPDATE: Washington County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, December 15, 2025. Most roads are clear and dry and we had hoped that more secondary roads would improve throughout the day. However, there are several areas in every part of the county that still have roads that are ice covered. WCPS Offices will open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Childcare will be available beginning at 10:00a.m. Please watch for additional information from your child’s elementary school. Be safe and stay warm!

📢SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to winter weather and poor road conditions across the county, WCPS will be CLOSED today, Friday, December 12, 2025. Childcare will NOT provided at elementary schools.

📢SCHEDULE CHANGE: Weather models show that we will receive more snow overnight, especially on the eastern side of the county. As a result, WCPS will operate on a 2-hour delayed schedule tomorrow, Friday, December 12, 2025. If an adjustment needs to be made to the schedule in the morning, we will do so by 7:30 a.m. Childcare for elementary students will be provided at elementary schools (for elementary aged students only) for working families who need it. What an exciting day for WCPS' Elementary Robotics Teams as they are competing in the LEGO Robotics Competition! Every Elementary School had at least one team that competed and they are judged on Presentations, Robots/Coding, and Core Values! Good Luck!

☕️🌟 Be A Bean Recognition | Meadowview Elementary Hometown Hero & Patrick Henry High School - Above the Call of Duty
Ms. Lindsey Stacy wears many hats as both a bus driver and dual enrollment calculus teacher — and she’s amazing at both!
She recently earned Be a Bean recognition for her calm response during a student medical emergency and for replying to a student’s math question… within three minutes… on a Sunday night!

☕️🌟 Be A Bean Recognition | Meadowview Elementary School We’re celebrating a remarkable group of teachers from Meadowview Elementary School whose hard work and dedication are truly changing the water! Earlier this year, another school division in Virginia reached out to learn our secret to success after seeing Meadowview’s incredible third-grade SOL gains -- and the answer was simple: the teachers in the classroom. Over the past few years, these outstanding educators have helped Meadowview’s third-grade students grow by leaps and bounds: *Math: from 70% (2022) ➡️ 82% (2025) *Reading: from 68% (2022) ➡️ 84% (2025) Those double-digit jumps don’t happen by chance — they happen because of teachers who believe in their students, work as a team, and make learning come alive every day.
