📢 Important Update: Last Day of School
As we wrap up another fantastic academic year, this is a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, May 22, is our final day of school.
Please note that students will be dismissed two hours early.
We are incredibly proud of our students' hard work this year and wish everyone in our community a relaxing and happy summer vacation! 🏫✨
Dear WMS Parents and Guardians:
At this time, all yearbooks have been sold and we no longer have additional copies available for purchase. Unfortunately, we also do not have a waitlist for extra books.
We appreciate your support and understanding. We encourage families to purchase yearbooks early next year, as they tend to sell out quickly.
Thanks for your understanding! Have a wonderful summer!
The Chorus Performance for tonight has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we prepare for Awards Day, we would like to share a few important logistical details to ensure a smooth, organized event for all attendees.
Our Awards Day ceremonies will be held on the following dates and times:
8th-Grade Awards Ceremony — Wednesday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m.
6th-Grade Awards Ceremony — Thursday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m.
7th-Grade Awards Ceremony — Thursday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m.
Please use the back parking lot near the gymnasium. Visitors should enter the building through the gymnasium doors. Doors will open approximately 20 minutes prior to each awards ceremony.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests should exit through the same gymnasium doors. Staff members will be stationed near the exit to assist with signing out students for those who choose to do so. Please note that a valid photo ID will be required to sign a student out.
We appreciate your cooperation and support as we celebrate our students' accomplishments. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Thank you,

Students also had the opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world careers by engaging with community partners including Utility Trailer, Universal Fibers, the WCYB Weather Team, WCPS Tech Trek trailer, 4-H, and the USDA Forest Service.

Happy Assistant Principals Week to Ms. Odum!

Families of Wallace Middle School 8th graders, the 8th grade formal is set for May 16th at 6:00.p.m. at Wallace Middle School. Our Communities in Schools Coordinator has arranged an opportunity for free hair and makeup before the formal starts. If interested, a parent/guardian must scan the QR Code to reserve their students spot. There are currently 15 slots available but more may be added if I interest is high enough. Please note a parent/guardian must accompany and stay with their student until the formal starts. Students may bring their own makeup and hair tools if they prefer but we will have some available on site as well. Get those inspo pics ready, sign up, and get ready for an enchanted night!

Students at Wallace Middle had a busy lunch period! Several students from each grade received a certificate from Ms. Skye for "Sham-Rockin' Good Choices" through the month of March. Teachers sent in nominations of students who had good attendance, good attitudes, and gave good effort towards their academics.
Last week was also Autism Awareness Day. Every student now has a new bracelet that reflects the importance of acceptance, inclusion, and kindness!
Finally, the Easter Bunny stopped by during 6th grade lunch to hand out some candy and help us hop into Easter Break!

Last week Ms. Skye with CIS of AH hosted a Sham-rock, Paper, Scissors Staff Tournament. Staff members competed last Wednesday to see who the luckiest staff member was! Congrats to Ms. Woods for reigning victorious and sham-rockin the competition

This weekend 8 WCPS Robotics teams are competing in the National RDL Championship at ETSU! These teams are forming alliances with other teams and sharpening their skills to represent our school division on the National stage!

The softball game scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026, has been postponed. Further updates regarding rescheduling will be shared as they become available.
