Hello Washington County,
I am thrilled that your School Board has chosen me to work with the families and staff of Washington County in the capacity of School Superintendent! Through partnerships with each of you we will make WCPS the best school division it can possibly be. I applaud current staff for leading WCPS to remarkable accomplishments already and I know that, together, we can build on that success in the coming years.
As you may know, I am a product of WCPS, both as a student and an employee for 19 years. My wife, Amy and our children also attended WCPS, and two of our grandchildren will be attending this fall. Amy and I have dreamed about moving to our farm in Glade Spring and we hope to do so by spring of next year. These are just some of the reasons I am so excited about joining you in WCPS’s commitment to the success of every student.
I am also excited because Washington County has a long history of being a leader in public education in SWVA and I believe that we have the capacity to be the very best school division in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. We can achieve great things by leading with integrity, communicating effectively, encouraging innovation, and focusing on individual student growth while providing a safe environment for students to learn and thrive. The sky is truly the limit of our schools and our children!
