VDH guidelines
Based on updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and The Virginia Department of Health we will transition to streamline recommendations for common respiratory virus illnesses such as COVID-19, flu and RSV. Below is a summary of the attached document provided to us from The Virginia Department of Health.

  • This update will replace community COVID-19 isolation and exposure guidance.
    • People with symptoms of a respiratory virus should take steps to prevent spreading illness to others:
      •  People can go back to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
      • Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
      •  You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
    • Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take precautions for the next five days to curb disease spread, such as:
      • Taking more steps for cleaner air
      • Enhancing hygiene practices
      • Wearing a well-fitting mask
      • Keeping a distance from others, getting testing to inform your actions to prevent spread to others.
