Washington County Public School's Gifted Summer Camp for grades 1-8 will be held June 23-26 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Washington County Career & Technical Education Center located at 255 Stanley Street in Abingdon, Virginia. This year's space-themed camp will launch students into exciting adventures as they explore rocket launching, moon survival, fiber optics, Morse code, and space capsule splashdown through engaging, hands-on activities. Daily Schedule:
8:00 a.m. - 8:25 a.m. ~ Drop-off will be at the front of the Washington County Career & Technical Education Center. Students will meet in the common area to join their group. Class will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ~ Student dismissal will take place at the front entrance of the Washington County Career & Technical Education Center. The site coordinator and teachers will accompany students to their vehicles to ensure a safe and orderly pickup. All traffic should turn right upon entering and follow the designated route around the back of the building to the front entrance for pickup.
A daily snack will be provided for each camper, and students are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Questions may be directed to the site director, Mrs. Susan O'Dell, at sodell@wcs.k12.va.us
