🌟 WCPS Leadership Change Announcement

We are excited to announce several leadership updates across Washington County Public Schools, approved by the School Board on May 5, 2025. These changes, effective July 1, 2025, reflect our continued focus on the School Board’s goals of improving student engagement, encouraging innovation, building a leadership pipeline, and strengthening professional development across all levels of our division.

As part of this vision:

  • Dr. Tamara Williams will bring her passion for instructional growth and innovation to her new role as Supervisor of STEM and Professional Growth, supporting professional learning and expanding STEM opportunities for students.

  • This shift will allow Dr. Scott Allen to return to his administrative roots as Supervisor of Middle Schools, where his leadership and experience will continue to make a strong impact on student success.

  • We are also thrilled to welcome back Mr. Scott Keith to the WCPS family. A longtime educational leader, Mr. Keith will serve as Principal of the Washington County Career & Technical Education Center after a brief time away from the division.

In alignment with the School Board’s goal of building a strong leadership pipeline, we’re proud to share the following transfers:

  • Ms. Ashley Clayman will serve as Assistant Principal at High Point Elementary School.

  • Ms. Amy Norman will serve as Assistant Principal at Watauga Elementary School.

Additionally, we are excited to introduce our newest group of emerging leaders:

  • Ms. Andrea Garrett, Dean of Students, Damascus Middle School and Glade Spring Middle School.

  • Ms. Denise Gobble, Assistant Principal, Rhea Valley Elementary School.

  • Ms. Blakleah Hensley, Dean of Students, E.B. Stanley Middle School.

  • Ms. Rebeka Stawarz, Dean of Students, Valley Institute Elementary School and Greendale Elementary School.

These talented individuals bring dedication, experience, and a deep commitment to our students and staff. We are confident they will help us continue to grow and thrive as a school division.
